Our next drain cleaning event is happening on May 17th. We’ll meet at City Hall at 9:00 AM and disperse to clean drains in nearby neighborhoods for up to 1-2 hours. Groups and kids are welcome. There will be donuts!
Bring any drain cleaning tools you want to use, like brooms, dustpans, and gloves. We’ll provide bags to collect the debris.
We’re also having another storm drain naming contest! If you win, you get a fun sign to put by your drain.
1. If you haven’t adopted a drain yet, go to https://mn.adopt-a-drain.org/map and choose a storm drain that hasn’t been adopted. It only takes about 15 minutes, twice a month, to clear your drain and protect our waterways.
2. Give your drain a name! Drainy McDrainface is already taken.
3. Enter the drain name and your information on this form by May 16th: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1S9h5B0CjuW7fe_dG_WwMAsnzHS-QN_jJzEWul18nGrw/
4. Voting will take place at our drain cleaning event on May 17th and online for the following week. Stay tuned here to learn more about the event and how to vote.
